Storm Queen is Morgan Geist project, having recently released a double EP with “Look Right Through” remixes. Geist is great in all his music endeavors, and here he proves the point.
Here’s the original song, released as a single in 2010.
In February 2012 there have been two consecutive four-track releases, Part 1 and Part 2. The first one has wonderful remixes by Aeroplane, Dimitri From Paris and Jamie Jones, as well as a vocal mix.
01. Look Right Through (Jamie Jones Remix)
02. Look Right Through (Aeroplane Remix)
03. Look Right Through (Dimitri From Paris Erodiscomix)
04. Look Right Through (Vocal Mix)
The second one has a dub version of the track, two remixes by MK and one by Art Department.
01. Look Right Through (Art Department Remix)
02. Look Right Through (MK Don’t Talk To Me Dub)
03. Look Right Through (MK Morning Vocal Mix)
04. Look Right Through (Dub)
All of these sound as good parts of the whole, so it’s really fine to listen to essentially the same song 8 times in a row. Again, applause for Morgan Geist for amazing music that inspires other artists.

Crooked Dreams is a track from Masha Qrella’s new album, Analogies. I remember now why I liked Metric in the first place – they reminded me somehow of Masha. The song is particularly lightweight and joyful sounding, and it’s a sheer pleasure to hear fresh material from Masha.
Animal Collective have a new 7” coming out – Honeycomb / Gotham. The physical vinyl will be out June 26 on Domino, but with pre-order, you get instant mp3 download of both tracks.
Honeycomb at first doesn’t even sound a lot like AC – it’s more electric and electronic, without the wilderness and taking-a-walk-in-the-jungle part. And only with the vocals you recognize good old Animal Collective. Honeycomb is at least 70% lyrics, you have to really catch up with the tempo. On the other hand, there’s Gotham – as if in slow motion, and more like their previous stuff, at times it’s even solemn-wild.
And just a reminder, Animal Collective recently had a Record Store Day release, their more experimental side, Transverse Temporal Gyrus. See their website or listen via Pitchfork.
